Tortoiseshell and Turtleneck

The winter chill is back here in Chicago.  I am so excited that it's cold again because I get to pull out my favorite sweaters and coats.  Chicago is truly magical in the winter.  I love being all bundled and warm walking down the city streets that are already decorated with Christmas lights.  Although I have to dress warm for this weather, that does not mean that it has to be bulky.  Here is one of my favorite outfits for the start of winter that is warm but still stylish.

Let's talk about this coat!  Although it looks thin, it is pretty warm.  All I need is a large scarf, and I am ready for days with crazy cold windchill.  I also think camel colored coats are always gorgeous on everyone.  I got it last winter from Zara around this time, and I can wear it into the start of spring, and start to wear it again when the leaves begin to change again.

I am wearing my newest pair of Warby Parker glasses.  I typically wear my contacts, but sometimes I wear my glasses if I think it works with my outfit.  I am lucky that I am blind as a bat so I can wear these adorable specs.  I loved this pair since I have not seen anyone have a pair of cateyed tortoiseshell glasses.  I already own a pair of dark circular ones, so now I have two great pairs to help accessorize my outfits.

I decided to wear a pendant necklace and hoop earrings to give this outfit a "cool librarian" vibe.  Wearing these gold accents also bring out the green in the sweater.
